Mentoring
Program Overview
Mentoring aids in career development and success. Our YGL Mentoring Program offers the opportunity for individuals new to government or early in their government careers to form quality connections with senior management employees. These connections are imperative to developing the next generation of government leaders.
It grew from a desire to address generational inconsistencies in the workplace, as well as a lack of resources for high quality, low cost, structured mentoring programs. The YGL Mentoring Program allows for a partnership between new and experienced workers to develop organically. Participants benefit from the experience their mentors bring in all aspects of life; while mentors are able to learn what the younger generation is looking for in an office culture and in a supervisor.
Application
We recruit for both mentors and mentees. Check back here in the future for applications for 2023.
Applications for 2022 are closed.
Eligibility
This program is open to all YGL members who wish to participate. Applications are open to all regardless of experience level. However, mentee spots will be prioritized for those more junior in their careers. If you have more experience (GS 13+), we encourage you to apply to be a mentor.
